Dolce&Gabbana Haute couture ss 2013

As you know the Italy fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana launched their couture line a few months ago, but unlike other brands, they didn't hold any show in Paris(Paris Haute Couture) or Rome(Alta Moda Roma). They only invited some huge fashion editors, clients and journalists, and that's all. They didn't allow to public any looks on Style.com or vogue or something, but some had leaked. According to their very first collection, what we could see are same old Sicily theme, huge, ugly and outdated ball gowns. I bet that gave them a lot of negative comments, as usual.

A photoshop disaster shot of their collection on Vogue It.
Pay attention on Jacquelyn dress, she has no legs.

Nothing changed in the latest collection. Still Sicily, lace, catholic. Extremely boring! but i have to admit that the craftsmanship, embellishment and the color palette in the collection are worth to adore. Furthermore, the collection was more cohesive than the first one.

But once i found a positive thing, they gave me another big bad negative thing. As we know they decided not to public their full collection on the internet, and we thought we could see them on some celeb like Madonna, Kylie Minogue... but:

The Daily Telegraph and three foreign newspapers were the only media outlets invited to the show, and Domenico Dolce said he would never allow the collection to be worn on Hollywood's red carpet. "This collection is for our customers, and they do not want to see their dresses on a celebrity, in an advert, or in a magazine," he said.

I have no idea about who are their clients, but the only thing i could learn is their first collection was an embarrassment so that the decided to 100% hide their another embarrassment from us. Oh well, good luck to you both, hope you won't be bankrupt as the rumors.

And you're so vain, Domenico.
