Yohji Yamamoto and the Zen mode
We are used to love the strange way Yohji Yamamoto does fashion. He discribed his fashion is sometime called amour for life that could help protect women from many dangerous circumstances. That means his fashion seems tough, untouchable but you still see the softness and feminity in it.
He was once in financial trouble that might make him bankrupt, so he had to make something profitable, wearable and saleable. Luckily, he's done it very well. Having a main brand, a few clothing lines and now a perfume line that could save him from the financial problem.
His latest line calls "discord" which launched last month. "discord" is all about fashion accesory, the moneymaker nowaday of every fashion brands. There are many extraodinary stuffs like scarves, bags, purses and shoes. But the most extraodinary thing is they all have soul.
The products use the hi-technology in printing so that they have the most realistic picture on the surface, from silk to leather. Yohji chooses flowers such as lotus, orchid, phyllocactus and cherry blossom look more romantic in BW.
You used to love smoke print of Alexander McQueen? You must love Yohji Yamamoto's smoke print too. Not to lousy as McQueen, Yohji's smoke capture the spontaneity, very natural.
The only one piece in color is the scarf which has the figure of Yohji Yamamoto with a dog face. Not so many people know this but that's his dog. He must love him very much.
The atmosphere of the store look very quite and with all those black and white product, we could feel the atmosphere of Zen, to be calm to feel the products, to listen to what they tell you. For example, the leather backpack which has the print of the waterfall is like telling the sound of the water in it, or you can feel all the flowers are blooming. But the most important message is, they are whispering "Pick me! Buy me! Bring me home!"

Balenciaga resort 2015-Alexander Wang "strikes" again!
Once again, the prince of Copycat strikes again with his resort collection for the French fashion house Balenciaga. The talent of him is translate other designers' designs into his cheaper version. But first, let's talk about the collection itself.
It's young, modern and wearable at some point. The jackets and shorts will be the moneymakers of the collection. But it's unacceptable when they have the price of Balenciaga but they look like Alexander Wang. I mean the price doesn't match with the quality and the design.
And now, the most exciting part. You can't really tell how many designers get involve in this collection. From Celine to Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquiere to Raf Simons... I am no surprised at this. So lazy and cheap and those rain boots? hahaha i'm still giggling.
I'll point out the most blatal rip off

And the rest belongs to Dior

Schiaparelli-Surrealism is real
More people, more fun. It's great when both Schiaparelli and Christian Lacroix came back to Haute Couture. Although it was just a collection, but i felt satisfied to see the fun and craziness of Schiaparelli and fairytale-ish dreamy aesthetic go together so well.
It's even more spectacular to see the collection through the lens of Baldovino Barani. He brought the garments in a royal room, put some elements of Surrealism and Dada into it and made it like a fairy tale told by pictures.

First class-Fashion magazine and its dark side
3. Lí do quan trọng đây.

"Gilt trip" to Myanmar
W Magazine striked once again! Like Vogue It, it's a monthy magazine which brings the excitement in every issue. For the May issue, W taked the reader on a trip to Burma a.k.a Myanmar. "Gilt trip" is not a fashion editorial like any others. It expresses the gorgeousness and generousness of Burma through the landscapes, the local Burmese people and don't for get the quirkiness of Edie Campbell by the dreamy lens of Tim Walker.
The name "Gilt trip" may refer to the famous wonder of Burma-Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. But not just that. The editorial delivers the richness of national culture which is much more valuable than gold.
