Unlike Vogue China celebrates their anniversary every year, Vogue Nippon decided to make a huge issue for their 15th anniversary. Anna Dello Russo maybe a flamboyant showing off chief editor, but she knows how to rock her franchise, for sure. Reuniting the top models since 90s till now, the september issue that named "Perfect icons" is one of the huge and must-have issues of the season, or maybe of the year (As you know Vogue Uk already leaked their September issue and i don't bother to click to see it in HQ).
Instead of promoting every key collections of the season, Vogue Nippon chose the two Japanese collections: Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto to appear most in the main editorials. I think this was a smart move of Anna because CDG and Yohji Yamamoto are the Japanese's prides on the fashion map, so no one has the perfect foot for the anniversary issue but them.
But same to Vogue China, Vogue Nippon picked the number of models matchs with the number of year they celebrate. Only 15 models were chose, that was a hard decision. The cast was almost perfect. Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Eva Herzigova, Karen Elson to Natasha Poly, Mariacarla Boscono... But i'm kinda disappointed when they chose only one Japanese girl-Tao Okamoto. If they had more room for Ai Tominaga, that would be awesome!
